A whopping 937 of you came through the finish at this year’s Hook Fun Run and Road Race. Well done everybody, and once again a massive thank you to absolutely everyone who helped out and made this such a fun (if damp) community event! Special thanks to the sporty gorillas from the Park Health Club who entertained us all during the warm up, and who generously provided mountains of bananas at the finish.

Thanks to your exertions, we’ve been able to make lots of donations to local charities and organisations over the summer. Here’s an extract from one of the thank you letters we received:

‘The Fun Run is such an excellent event uniting the village and providing serious and recreational runners the chance to have fun. Hook wouldn’t be the same without it!'

Would you like the opportunity to get involved? We always need lots of help on the weekend of the event, and are also looking for a couple of volunteers to help out with some admin during the buildup.
