| The weather was
a bit on the cool side on when the event took place in 2003, but at least
the rain held off for most of the time. Apologies to everybody who
could not get a running number for the 2.5 mile race - we sold out about
10 days before the day.
A big thank you to our 2003 sponsors - Gist, Hook Tandoori and Chupa Chups. We were unable to stage the 5 mile race due to building works going on at the school. This also meant a slightly different route at the start as we needed to put in an extra few metres. A special mention for Daniel Seabrook, age 11, of Swallowfield who set a new course record for the 2.5 mile race with a fantastic time of 15.38. | The Mary Dearlove
Trophy for the oldest participant in any race was won for the second
year running by Gerald Watts of Hook. Gerald was 76 years old
on the day and successfuly completed 2.5 miles.
Our special thanks go again to Richard Dean for his invaluable assistance with all of the computerised results. Many thanks also to Old Mutual International, based in Hook. They have sponsored our electronic timing equipment for the last three years. We are grateful for their support. Check out the photographs of the event. |
